Jumping spider is a name that has been given to a group of over 4,000 species, more than 300 of these species in the U.S. These spiders are set apart by their ability to jump 10 to 40 times their own body length. Many species are brightly colored and strikingly patterned, they are stout with short legs, and a very large pair of eyes.
